Saltwater Fishing Community

This was app 700 lb MArlin we got on my little 28 ft center console in 800 ft "somewhere" off Islamorada. Hit a 9" blue/gold Islander with ballyhoo on rigger on Penn 30TW . THought it was a big amberjack as it sounded when hooked, 35 minutes later it launched about 10 tds off transom.... like a Polaris missle. Greyhounded off in front of boat, managed to keep up with it. $ times we saw the gold of the spool , each time managed to regain some line. Finally 2-1/2 hours later we got the leader in hand. App 13 ft long, girth of 55 gal drum. What a catch if Islamorada!
