    Default Mosquito Lagoon Access Spots

I know this is the most annoying thread that exists, but can anyone PM me or point out some access spots that can be waded? I do hate when my local forum has a newbie wanting info (On the Michigan Sportsman Forum) in my area. BUT, I live in Michigan and I stay in Florida (1) week a year with the family, near New Smyrna. I do get a guide (Capt Brad Stine) for (1) day at 550 a throw and can't really afford 2 or 3 days using him. SO, I still want to do some fishing while there. Of course I love my family and family time, but a guy has to get away more than once to wet a line. I have tried a few spots down Turtle Mound Road and the canal between lagoons (what a zoo). I did try to wade near the canal and the mud sucked me up pretty good.

If anyone wants to trade boat time, I would be more than open to doing that. I will be happy to take someone out in my drift boat on the Pere Marquette River in lower Michigan, near Baldwin if you use Google Maps. One of the best Steelhead/Trout rivers in the Midwest.

Any advice or interest would be great.

So, do I need to pack waders or just use fishing sandals? Any opportunities for fly fishing or just take the usual shrimp with spin caster?

Thanks for the help. I never fish on top of other people, so if there are people fishing a spot, I move. So I always stay out of peoples way when I get advice on where to fish. I don't want to take someones spot that was given up on a forum.

The above mentioned areas offer good wading. In addition, if you know where Turtle Mound is, go all the way to the end of that road. At the bottom of the hill there is wading access there or you can walk along the dike road and get to other locations south of there. Use soft plastic jerk baits and look for shallow sand holes and catch big trout and redfish.
