3 weeks ago many small yellow offshore 10 to 20 miles out most were in the 10lb range. The bite only lasted a short time till the tuna fleets got word of them and cleaned them out in a few days. Offshore has been moderatley slow this winter and spring. Frequent windy, cooler days and water temperatures has reduced the offshore bite considerably. This season instead of multiple hook ups and realeses of Marlin and sailfish single fish are more the norm. Bottom fishing and inshore seems to be a little more productive than the offshore fishing. Some grouper and snapper being caught mostly small with a few nice fish mixed in. There are usually plenty of Jacks mixed in to keep you from getting bored especially around the Islands off Mazatlan. The best thing going there right now for those that like freshwater fishing, as well seems to be the Bass fishing at the the famed Lake El Salto. Take a look at the photos from there
