Our clients, the Staber party, had another great trip with Capt. Bobby McGuinness on the Cazador. Bobby if some of you remember was one of the very first guides at the original Golfito Sailfish Rancho when Jerry Tricomi built it. Bobby has in addition to the Sweet Dreams, a new "old" boat called the Cazador, a 37ft Harris Express which he operates personally. The Sweet Dreams(28ft Pursuit) is now operated by his old first mate Irvin. It's a great boat too, but Bobby is the one everyone wants to fish with, as he holds more individual IGFA records than any other captain.

Anyway, the Staber party of four fished with Bobby for three days - Easter week. The first day out they raised 5 sails, hooking 4 and releasing 3 - not bad. Second day they raised 10 sails, hooked 8, released 7 - that's more like it. The final day they chased cuberas and cerro mackerel at the "rock". No roosterfish, even tho they had plenty of live bait, Bobby said they were tough to find all month.

Since Big Thunder B&B sold out to Bahia Escondida, we put them up at the Hotel Sierra which is a beautiful little hotel, reasonably priced at $100 a night double including buffet breakfast each morning. The Casa Rolando was scheduled to open this winter and now it's been pushed back to June, so they missed out this year. Bobby is still keeping his boats at Banana Bay, but meets and picks up our clients at their hotel every morning and brings them back after a tiring day of catching big cuberas and sails.
