    Default Mississippi River Gates Open

Bay Saint Louis MS... The Trout and Reds were just getting really great around Lake Borgne and the top of the marsh, 26 inch plus sized trout and our usual trophy Reds were turning it up for spring. With water temps in the high 60s and only the fronts messing with us it all WAS great.
Due to the flood stage water coming down from up north they had no option except to open the flood gates and dump mass quantities of fresh water into the marsh. Now 20 miles out it is still sweet water and scarce fish.
The trout were tearing up top waters and the reds were jumping on spinners and jigs. Now from Lake Borgne to Grand Pass it is almost all freshwater and the fishing went down hill fast.
The Chandeleurs and deep marsh are your best bet now for good inshore action.
The deep offshore fishing is still ON with some big Wahoos and Grouper still being caught. Red Snapper season is not far out and we are ready to take it on.
If you can handle a 60 mi run and want to have some reel fun come on down and lets go fishing, at $3.29/ gal for gas I need you to help out so we can all have a blast. We can haul to Venice or anywhere you want for whatever species you want. New 24` CC boat with twin Yamaha 4 strokes, trolling or bottom bouncing, inshore and off call 228-216-6357 or e-mail jgbigfish@hotmail.com if interested. Based in MS, licensed in MS,LA, and AL we`ll go on "A Fin and a Prayer I"
