I had the day off so me and a buddy headed down to the Broad river in Beaufort for some Cobia.
Ended up with two small fish in the box, released another one that was under 33" and pulled the hook on another that was small.
All fish were caught on squid.

All of the fish were caught with the new Penn Torque-100 reel. Man, this is one sweet reel!

The bad news is that it was so ruff in the river that the boat beside us sank with two people in it.
Had to go pick them up and carry them back to the boat ramp. The lady that was in the boat couldn't swim, but thank god she had on her life jacket! She was a little shaken up but was fine.
The coast guard came by to check it out, but we were back on the anchor and had lines in the water by the time they got there.
The rescue squad came and got the boat.

Man, that was one hell of a day. A little fishing, a sea resuce, a boat sinking, that's an adventure.
What do you have your penn torque spooled with? Are you using the 100, 200 or 300 torque? I would guess with a 6:1 ratio the retrieve is very nice. Do you care to mention what type of rig/bait or lure you were using for the cobia.
I am in Charleston for some meetings right now and have really enjoy the friendly people and the great food. I look forward to a new food adventure for every meal. Do you have any recommendations? I ate at slightly north of broad, jestines, hymans and want to try hominy grill and magnolia.

Sorry Seth,,,I just saw your post. (I didn't get a e-mail notification)
Any way,,I have 20lb braid on my 100 Torque's and 30lb on my 200 Torque's. All of them are on the new Torque rods.
We where fishing on the bottom with whole frozen squid using a Carolina rig with 50lb mono leader and a 5/0 Eagle Claw non offset circle hook (Part# L7228BPG-5/0)
It sounds like you have hit most of the good restaurants downtown.
If you like Sushi,,Go to Wasabi's on State st, just off the market.
I need to have you follow me when I go Tuna fishing in my special Florida "Tuna" boat. We are taking a special boat from Boston to London. We plan to go Tuna Fishing, hopefully we will get some cool video and pictures to bring back. I tried to upload a picture, but I am not that computer savy.
