Attended the Shallow Sport Owners Tournament at South Padre Island Saturday (5/17/08). A lot of speckled trout and some really nice redfish were brought to the scale. There were scattered storms all morning, but the weather cleared up the same time the tide started in around noon, and the action heated up fast.

I was pleased to see good numbers of flounder brought in, too. The flatties have been scarce the last three years, and they're making a bit of a comeback. Most are in the 14-15 inch range, but there were a couple of 20-inchers weighed in.

It's going to be a good summer!
