Offshore fishing was very slow the first week of June all the way from Puerto Vallarta to Altata. This area had a unuasally cold and windy winter all the way in to spring! The warm water currants simply did not lay close to shore.Boats fishing the tournament held on the 4,5,6,7, of June Tried to travel 40 miles offshore looking for blue water warmer currants.Unfortunatly for tournament fisherman the tournament did not do as good as expected.Many boats came back in several days in a row with nothing. A few caught sails, my company's boat caught a sail on the 5th that did not make weight. On the 6th they caught a Mahi Mahi 25lbs to take second, place not very big considering this normally good fishery. Hopefully things will pick up in the warming weeks ahead.
