I went to key largo with my cousin Ryan to do some fishing and diving. We went fishing morning and afternoon both days and even squeezed a night trip in. We did a little trolling a few miles beyond the reef but didn't do any real offshore fishing just reef fishing since we planned on diving after every fishing trip. We targeted snapper with the poles and hogfish with the spearguns. The best trip we had was the night trip. We set up in 70 feet of water just outside a reef about 30 minutes before dark and had our limit of snapper (20) within no time. we were back at the dock cleaning by 9pm. Ryan had a blast, he never caught that many fish in one weekend and he did 4 reef dives and 2 dives in 120 feet of water on a wreck. That's not bad for a guy who just got certified 2 weeks ago.
