Tailing Redfish, redfish in the pot holes and snook in the mangroves. That's what it is like this week in Boca Grande. The cool night and warm days are keeping the water clear and the fish active. There are seatrout everywhere, Spanish mackerel and false albacore in the near shore gulf and there are pleanty of ladyfish and blue fish.
Jimmy Harris and his partner Dave from Unicoi Fly Shop in Helen, Ga. fished this week taking seatrout, bluefish, ladyfish and redfish from the area near Bull Bay. Most fish took an Estaz marabou or Puglisi pattern. The redfish took a crab/shrimp pattern called a Mer-Quan.
The coming week will bring more of the same. The redfish will tail on the lowest tides each day. Snook are best early near the passes on the out-going tide.
Night fishing under the dock lights is still good. Plenty of snook and trout.
Fish Hard,
Capt. Pete
