Well anglers I am off to a long two days of sponsorship meetings and I called Capt's Shane and Joe out on the water. Gayle Balley and his crew of 6 anglers started their two day trip with us at Bayou Charters and the Silver Side Lodges today. At 8:45am both boats were finished their limits of trout (150) and their limits on redfish (30). They told me that the redfish were eating up over in Lake Bartolo on anything they were throwing out. Capt. Shane told me that they were even catching them just reeling in the cork!
Well, the fishing is just moving from the fall patterns to the winter patterns. The trout are starting to get deeper in the water column and the reds are getting shallow to retain the heat from the sun. The fishing should now begin to get somewhat easier with the trout falling into the deeper holes where you can sit and feel the hit instead of watching the cork go down!! I think it is more fun to feel the hit then set the hook on a cork, but that is just me.
We have a few openings still for the rest of the year, so don't pass up this great fishing!!!
