The Abaco Beach Resort in Marsh Harbour, Bahamas is proud to be hosting their inaugural Family Wahoo Tournament February 5th through the 8th, 2009.
This promises to be an awesome family oriented event with categories that include both ladies and junior anglers. Numerous sponsors have contributed to this event despite a troubled economy. That tells you right there this is an exciting weekend. The prize and sponsor lists are very long.
Six teams have already committed with many more expected to sign up at the Captain's meeting. The weather should be good, but in the event is turns sour, the Abaco Beach Resort is offering free dockage (not including water and electric) until the next weekend (raindate). Additionally, the Abaco Beach Resort is inviting all tournament participants to attend their "Full Moon Party" on the beach at the resort. This is an awesome event that is a "Must See". The food is always great at Angler's Restaurant and this special event is sure to bring out additional menu delights!
The tournament is a "Jungle Rules" event, with time deadlines being the only governing factor. This is not a money-maker for any other entity except for the anglers. Payouts are based on number of entries.

Due to high winds that have blown for the past 10 days, none of the teams signed up for this event were able to make the crossing.
The good news is that the Abaco Beach Resort has offered another weekend to hold the Wahoo Tournament. The event is now scheduled for April 2nd through the 5th, 2009. All of the same promotions offered by the resort will still be in effect.
