February Continues to be a great month for those lucky anglers who have chosen Quepos Costa Rica for their fishing destination.
Economy what it is, we are not fishing every day, but every day that we are fishing clients are returning to the dock ecstatic with their fishing experience.
Captain Jesus of the Estrella de Mar continues to say he has not seen fishinging like this in Quepos during the past 10 years.
Reports of Marlin continue daily and double digit sailfish being raised is the norm, not the exception.

Andy Roland and friends from Colorado enjoyed a full day of offshore fishing aboard the Estrella de Mar. The sailfish bite was strong with 9 fish raised and 7 landed. The tuna hunt in the afternoon was a success with 2 large yellowfin landed by the 3 anglers. They found the Estrella de Mar such a comfortable boat that they will return on Tuesday with their wives for another day of offshore fishing.
More great fishing for the Roland famiy and friends. The ladies joined in the fun today bringing along lots of luck. The group raised 25 sailfish landing 9.
The Steven’s party from Tampa fished a full day offshore, calling their day “the best day of fishing ever”. Estrella de Mar raised 3 Marlin, and 18 Sailfish. The guys landed a 300 pound marlin along with 11 Sailfish.
Fellow Texan John Garland and his buddies fished the Estrella de Mar on Friday the 13th. The guys landed 8 Sailfish, 2 snapper, and a dorado while on a full day offshore charter.
The Green family of Toronto fished a full day aboard the Estrella de Mar. After landing 4 sailfish in the morning, they set out to find some fish for dinner. Two hours later they had landed 2 snapper and a dorado.

This time of year the fishing is phenomenal in Costa Rica. You should have a great day of fishing on the Marlin Mujer she is a big boat and your group will be able to fish in comfort.
Estrella de Mar out of Quepos, Costa Rica has fished fourteen days offshore and one day inshore so far during february. The updated tally is 135 Sailfish, 8 Marlin, and a mixed bag of tuna, snapper, dorado and amberjack.
Guests fly-fishing inshore landed 6 snook, 2 amberjack, and a roosterfish.

Fishing was good for the Merrils of Cedar Park. The family of four landed 5 of 8 sailfish raised before noon. They spent the afternoon hunting an elusive marlin, One was raised, but it was not landed.
A good day of fishing. Estrella de Mar reports a respectable 4 sailfish raised with 3 landed, along with one very large dorado. The guys raised one Marlin, but didn’t bring him all the way to the boat.
Fishing was fantastic. We took our friend Jorge from the Barba Roja out on a full day offshore adventure. We were 10 for 12 on the sails. We also raised a beautiful jumping blue marlin, but were unable to land it.
February 23 and 24
The group fished offshore using both fly rods and conventional gear. On Monday, 2 sailfish were landed with fly rods while 3 more were landed using conventional tackle. Tuesday brought 3 more sailfish on the fly and 3 more sailfish with conventional tackle.
The group fished inshore using fly rods. The tally for the day was 6 snook, 2 amber jack, and a hard fighting roosterfish.
