Captain Bill and I went offshore with Captain Ron Hipner, co-producer of Extreme Saltwater Fishing to film an episode on jigging that will be out of production and air Sunday morning on FOX 51 in late summer. We headed out of Homossassa this morning since that is the location the film needed to be shot at. I let Capt. Ron know that I have some good #s in Homossassa but I haven't fished them in several months. He told me that we only need 4-6 good fish to put a 30 minute show together. I let him know that should not be a problem. Our 1st stop was a spring in 60 feet of water on the north side on Homossassa that I haven't fished since last summer. Thank goodness the AJs were home. We had triple hook ups all morning and had more AJ footage in 2 hours than he could use in an entire season. After constant AJ action I let him know we could go deeper for some grouper or make our way in and stop at a snapper hole in 50 feet to try to jig up some mangroves. We decided to move to shallower water. We didn't catch any mangroves but we did land several red snapper and hogfish on vertical and buck tail jigs. It was a fun day on the water. Thanks Capt. Ron Hipner and Capt. Kevin James for having me as a guest on your show. I look forward to filming Kingfish in April, and FL keys permit in June with you guys.
