Wednesday the king fishing was hot we got a bunch of kings, spanish macs, grouper, and a few very small AJs. We got one king on a flat line and lost one on a flat line while we were bottom fishing for a short time. All the other kings were caught on trolled kingfish rigs and we got a few grouper on stretch 25 lures. I had a great time king fishing with you Leon I look forward to our Inshore trip next week.




















On Friday Alan mainly wanted me to show him how we were catching the shallow water grouper since he had a flats boat and could come back out and do it him self later. He also wanted to catch some kings. So we started off in 25 feet for kings. We fished the bottom for grouper and had flat lines out for kings. We caught a bunch of grouper but only put 3 in the box. we also caught some mangroves, and the AJs showed up again. The small AJs are very thick right now in 25 feet and so are the mackerel. We only caught 1 mac while anchored so after fooling around with the AJs and grouper we put out the mackerel rigs and trolled and started slamming the kings. The biggest king of the day was 43 lbs when we finished with the kings we came into 14-18 feet to troll for gags. Right away we were hooked up. We could hardly get the lures in the water and we were getting double hook ups. The shallow water grouper bite is awesome right now. We had no problem finishing off our limit of grouper and letting several others go. Over all Fridays trip was great The action was non stop all day with a good variety of fish.
