There was a good offshore forcast for this Memorial day weekend and I knew some people that wanted to go fishing, so out we went. It was me on my Yamaha, Bryant on his Polaris, Richard on his Yamaha and Mothership “ClassicRockfish” Beth, Kevin and kids. We went out both Saturday and Sunday so this is going to be a combined report for both days. We departed Teaches Lair at 0530 hrs and headed east about 20 miles, there was a nice color change and water temp was 75.5 deg. with good weedlines all around us. All of us were able to catch several nice Dolphin and Richard was fortunate to catch a pretty Wahoo. Everyone was trolling ballyhoo. Sea conditions both days were 3-5 ft with some big swells in between. We averaged 20 mph going out in head seas and 30-35 with following seas on return. I covered 63 miles and burned 16 gals, as a precaution “ClassicRockfish” topped the two Yamahas while we were off shore. Beth and Kevin also carried back some of the catch for us jet ski fisherman. Back at Teaches at 1230. We all got together at a beach house I was staying at in Waves for a feast of fresh grilled Mahi and Wahoo on Saturday night. I had a great time with friends new and old and can’t wait to do it again!
