Default mississippi breaking in new boat

Last week i was fortunate enough to finally go and get my new boat. I got a 2009 keywest 2020cc bluewater with a yamaha 115 four stroke. And man do i love that boat, its been a long wait for this boat and alot of getting my money right to be able to do it. Already being a father of two i feel like i just had a new baby. Once the boat was home and loaded out with all of the coast gaurd requirements, and other things you need in a boat to fish, the first fishing trip was planned. We were going to go on a night trip for bull red fish out at the islands on friday night. Everyone got off work friday evening and i already had the boat completely loaded gased up and rods and reels rigged. We loaded up and put the boat in ther water, our first stop was the mud humps right out of the marsh. With a few throws of the cast net we had all the finger mullet we would need for the night. Baited up, me and my brothers and one of our friends headed about 15 miles out into the mississippi sound to the west point of sand island. The spot we were going to start at is a 10 to 12 foot gulley right off the tip of the island where the current is pretty strong. At night i like to cut the mullet in half and use the heads for bait, thats how i have had my best results. I handed my brother his pole and a mullet head, and he made his first cast while we were still getting the other reels handed out and baited up. About 10 seconds after his bait hit the water he yelled out there he is boys and he was hooked up to a 19lb bull red. After a great fight in the current we netted a beautiful red that had nine spots on both sides of his body. After that we all casted back out and within a minute all four of us were hooked up. The action was so fast that we pulled the boat up on the island and fished from the bank to keep from getting crossed up by these hard fighting reds. This went on for about three hours nonstop, it was taking us alot longer to land the reds because the current was very strong that night and the fish were swimming with it, but it was a blast. When it started to slow down we had landed a total of 18 bull reds. The biggest was 19lbs and the smallest was 12lbs, tired and wore out from catching the fish we headed in. On our way home we decided to come back and do it again on the next night. I went home cleaned out the boat and filleted the fish that we kept and went to sleep. When i got up we prepared the boat and headed back out late the next evening, we went to the same place for bait and the same place to fish. When we arrived we baited up and casted out, again within a min or two we were all hooked up. We stayed there and caught another 17 bull reds, for a two night total of 35 reds. It was one of my best fishing trips ever, and a great experience for me and my brothers together. Its a time that none of us will ever forget, and a great way to break in the new boat.
