    Default 12wt.

    I'm going to buy one for tarpon fishing next May/June. Will I need 2 spools for it (floating/sinking) or can I get by with 1? Anything else I should consider
    that I might be missing?

    Find out where you are fishing next May/June then you will know more about whether you will be throwing multiple lines. More than likely you will only need one spool with one line depending on local. I have never been on a tarpon trip where I used different lines throughout the day. Not to say this does not happen but I think you will be fine with just one for now.
