We had a big delay in the morning because as we were about to leave Twin Rivers @ 7am my water separator went out. The on-site shop had them but none that fit a 300 hp motor so we had to wait 'till West Marine opened @ 9am. After we got back to the ************************ and put the new pump on, it was past 10 am so we had a 3 hour late start. Since we were short on time instead of shooting out to 50 feet like planned, we stopped in 25 feet. Thankfully the gags were on the rocks. We caught a limit of gags and we were also able to pull a school of kings in with the homemade bonito and crevalle chum. Even with the big setback, we still had enough time after getting our gags to head out to 50 feet and try for some red grouper. We only got 4 keeper red grouper and about a million perfect-sized red snapper. Too bad we couldn't keep them. We also caught several more kings, spanish macs, gags, a bunch of tasty triggerfish, and we even had a school of real small dolphin come up to the boat but we didn't get any that were anywhere close enough to keep. The day ended up being great despite the 3+ hours lost to replacing the water separator.
