There's a lot of activity and although I don't KNOW the details serious negotians are ongoing between the Guy Harvey's Outpost Resorts and the owner/bank.

Let's hope this happens as I think it would be a great match.

I've recieved an update from the company trying to purchase Big Game. Pertty much the government is making it difficult to close the deal by demanding they pay off all past debts. They're looking for help and are suggesting letters be sent to the Prime Minister. Here's a suggested letter but it would be best if you personalize it:

I am a “Friend of Bimini”. I understand that Guy Harvey is trying to re-open the Big Game Club. As the Prime Minister of the Bahamas, I write to ask that you help make this opportunity a reality.

I have been a frequent visitor to Bimini over the many past years. I consider Bimini as my home away from home, and the friends I have made in Bimini are like family to me.

Our Bimini is hurting. The many recent tragic events have scared its spirit and devastated it economically. So many establishments have closed there is little reason left to visit. Sadly, this causes only more harm to the community and despair among my Bimini “family”. Please use your influence to help our Bimini.

Mr. Prime Minister, Guy Harvey is world famous. Both the Bahamas and Bimini will be well served by having such a respected marine conservation authority involved in the Big Game Club. As Bimini is legendary, so is Guy Harvey. With his involvement the Club will certainly flourish, and Bimini’s spirit will be re-awakened.

I know everyone who has ever visited Bimini and stayed at the Big Game Club shares my sentiment. As the Prime Minister of the Bahamas, I ask only that you help make this opportunity a reality. Please use your influence to help our Bimini.

Thanks for your support. Nassau needs to know each if you wants to be a part of revitalizing Bimini and reopening the BBGC.

With your voice, we can help our friends in Bimini.

We are assisting the first mortgage lender in evaluating issues in reopening this spring. The first mortgage is in default and the lender is pursuing foreclosure. There are numerous challenges, some of which are simply overcoming "policy" and the urgency of getting utility service restored so we can start checking equipment and the like.

The PM is a friend of the project and the proposal to reopening as a Guy Harvey Outpost Resort. By writing, you are lending your voice in support of his efforts to expedite matters.

Friends of Bimini

The Lights are Coming On!

I am pleased to announce that we have reached agreement with the Government of the Bahamas regarding the matter of past due bills of the Bimini Big Game Club. The Prime Minister, his staff, and the head of various agencies/departments we have dealt with are to be complimented in their support and effort to prioritize these discussions.

We will be in Bimini this Friday, 2/19 and hope to have the lights turned on by that time. Once we evaluate the operating condition of equipment and the like, we will establish our plans for a formal reopening.

We are hoping to be up and running by April 15.

Spread the word....Bimini is back!
