I posted on another forum a couple weeks ago.
While fishing off Bonita Beach a couple miles on Thursday with my son we were catching sharks. One of the sharks that we were removing the hook from started to thrash around and looped the line around my sons rod. The rod then snapped about 5 inches from the tip. He then baited up the hook and through the line over. In a few minutes the line took off like a rocket was tied to it. We followed the fish and then it pulled us around for a while. After what was about an hour we got to see what it was and it surprised the heck out of both of us. It was a tiger shark about 7 1/2' or better. He fought the shark using a Shimano Spheros 8000 on a broken rod. The shark had 2 other hooks in it and we could only remove one of them before releasing the shark.

That's awesome! I caught a little pup couple years ago out of PC, it was probably the coolest looking shark I've ever caught.

Saweeet. I got the phone call a couple weeks ago from a buddy of mine who caught one off the pier. From the description he gave it was pretty much the same size.

Cool Fish! I've never caught one. Thanks for the pics!
Nice. I have only seen a tiger once on a wreck called the "Power Hitter" about 10 miles west of Gordon Pass. We had nothing set up to toss at it. That must have been an awsome experience for you and your son, especially with the broken rod...way to go!
