Default Bait bait and more bait

Saturday in the 10K islands was a dream. There was no wind, it wasn’t hot and I couldn’t find a bug if I looked. One throw of my 8 foot net loaded the live well with nice WHITE bait. Not thread fins but big eyed white bait.

I felt pretty confident after catching bait so easily but, as my luck goes I didn’t catch much to speak of and at the end of the day released the bait for another day.

A few miles south of Pavilion we were flagged down by a boat in distress. His boat suddenly stopped running and he was trying to get back to Choko using his trolling motor . I guess sometime in the past his kill switch was giving him trouble so it just cut out the switch and hard wired a bypass. 4 miles outside of cell service his bypass failed and he was stuck.

So goes my fishing day. Man- it was beautiful in the Glades and I was happy to be on the water.

What's worse, catching a nice fish on the first cast or spending 2 minutes loading up on bait and then have the day go south? At least you have some pluses in the karma column.

Nice to know bait is still around and kudos for the good karma deposit. I have towed in more than one boat and been towed in once myself in the Glades.

RS, please refrain from putting bait back - they interfere with my Mirrolures.....

14 gallon Kodiak with a transom pump but I only install it for offshore - no need to go to the darkside in the park......

I usually get a bad feeling when bait comes exceptionally easy in the morning.

Man, I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets mad live bait and then blanks out.
