We headed out of St. Auggie right after daylight into some cold, but pretty nice seas. After a couple of bait stops we loaded the livewells with some minnows and about a dozen choice size grunts. Started just inside the dry docks and it was a sea bass frenzy so we sent down the grunts and some n=big boston macks. It was slow goin for a few then the big grouper got fired up and basically embarased everyone on the boat a few times. We worked our way south and back into about 120 ft. and started getting into some decent snapper (22 to 26 inches) and some nice triggers. A couple of us sent down some chicken rigs to put some meat in the boat. Loaded up about 25 or so good triggers, a pile of vermillions (released), about a dozen pinkies, and one toro snapper. That toro is one cool looking fish. After we put 8 snapper in the boat we went to big baits to try to put some mules in the boat. Got the rest of 6 limit of snapper just drifting a couple spots, one real good mule, and headed to the hill right at dark into some snotty seas.
Total tally for the day,
12-Snapper to 36"
1-AJ
12-pinkies
6-seabass (the dry docks are eat up with em)
