I Have been fishing the east banks of the ICW near longpoint and honest johns in the morning with the east winds finding redfish and trout eager to take topwater lures such as a skitter walk near the mangroves and around the pockets and coves that are protected from the wind look for the ones that have a little current flowing around them and the sandy potholes and cleaner water. I also have caught some nice Tarpon on live greenies and mullet the size of them are from 70lbs to 10 lbs using I am using 15lb Power Pro and a 50lb florocarbon leader with a #6 circle hook.
here is a video of my good friend Uncle Jess on his first tarpon around 10 lbs not a big one just a fun one..
