Met Ted, his wife, and Johnny at 0'Dark thirty at the chilly Fort Island Trail ramp. We loaded up the boat and set off into the fog. First few stops were on the grass flats to try and catch pinfish, which was not a great success, but we had 4 boxes of frozen bait. So, off we went.
At the first stop, the depthfinder was incorrectly reading 5ft, but we dropped baits anyway and started pulling in tons of short red grouper. One after another after another, so we decided to run deeper to 60ft. Had a little better luck:
I still can't figure why there is a red grouper flying so close to my head....

Nice!I think that is the rare "jumping red grouper". I've never actually seen a picture of one of those.
The only people that tell you it can't be done are the people who haven't done it themselves.
