The offshore fishing out of Venice, La. is starting to get right. The smaller YFT are showing up in big numbers at some of the usual places but the bigger fish have not yet. Should be any day though. This upcoming week looks to be calm and the warmest we have had in a while and I think this will be the sure test of what we’ve got out there right now. Weather like this usually triggers the winter bite. The Wahoo have shown up but it is not consistent. One day good and the next slow but not completely off. Amberjack—thicker than ever right now. As we move further into Feb. the bigger tuna will start to show along with crazy numbers of black fin tuna. Should be a lot like last year with a later season bite since the weather pattern is almost identical to last year so far. This is our 14th year in business and all I can say is that I hope this is a normal one. We have sure seen a lot in the past 5 years.
We’ve got open days to fish so if you are ready to get out there, give us a call.
