Default Need info on proper line, with stiff current

Hi. I fish out about 30 miles off the New Hampshire Coast. Many times we get out there and the current brings the lines out almost horizontal and we cant keep the bait on the bottom. I will admit I use cheap monofilamint and have been told there is line out there that reacts much better with a strong current. We fish in about 200 ft. Thanks for your help

Definately time to make the switch to braid. I used to fish alot in 180-240 with mono but on days with current 2kts+ it was tough until I went to braided lines. You will feel the bite quicker and have less slack and stretch be amazed at how much better you fish deep water. 80-100 is thin as 20 as 20 mono.As far as brands? Any will be better than mono. Just a little tricky with knots. Local shop should help you out.

    GREAT ADVICE!!!

DIAMETER IS DRAG. AND WHEN THE CURRENT PASSES AGAINST YOUR LARGER DIAMENTER MONO....IT'S LIKE A SAIL IN THE WND.

SMALL DIAMETER BRAID IS THE KEY...#80 CLASS

They sell some 50 lb test at my local bait store and it has a diameter of .36 does that sound ok ?

50# braid will make fishin a whole new experience for you.

Like Box said, 80 would be great. If you can get by with 50, even better.

    I use Power Pro brand.
    This too shall pass.

Power Pro or Diawa Boat Braid are the 2 best choices.
