that I had to read about the recent winner of the first leg of the Bermuda Triple Crown Marlin Tournament series on another competing fishing site---- especially when Bonnier Corporation is the tournament organizer, the tournament Director is the publisher of Bonnier's magazines, and Bonnier owns and has has a website devoted to each of the three tournaments within the series----- not a peep about it's own tournament any where on these foums---- I thought this was a Sportfishing forum---- I'm beginning to believe that the ones on the Bridge of Bonnier think this forum is more of a bilge.
Anyway, congrats Wound Up James and Sea Toy (Bull Tulson).

I don't get it
How does that make any sense? Family first has always been my motto.
Legasea, Little Tooth, czoubek,... Its all just Nauti Natured
WOW...........
SADLY ENOUGH, I AM BEGINNING TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON HERE....AND I CAN'T SAY THEY DIDN'T WARN ME UP FRONT ON DAY ONE WHEN I FIRST SPOKE TO THE BONNIER ADMINISTRATION BACK IN JANUARY
I WAS TOLD THIS SITE IS NOT COMMUNITY DRIVEN...THAT COMMUNITY IS NOT THE FOUNDATION FOR THIS SITE. THUS....ZERO REPLIES IN 99.9% OF ALL THREADS CREATED
PRETTY MUCH DEFINES THE NON COMMUNITY ATTITUDE
The other site has about 1/3 the activity it had 2 years ago and this one can't get rolling. Are the days of internet fishing communities numbered?

Your guess is as good as mine Bert. I may be wrong, but I just don't see the Facebook genre totally taking over or replacing what forums provide. However, one thing is clear: it takes alot of time and devotion to keep a forum going ---- they just can't survive very long on cruise control with no involvement, interest or direction from the site's owners/management--- hell, a shill can work wonders. I find internet fishing forums alot like local beer joints--- some are more popular than others, many come and go, most that do hang on go through periods of up and downs, and most important, people don't like to drink alone so they flock to where other people are. This often requires work on the part of management to find ways to keep the bar stools occupied during slow times.

I've always enjoyed reading whatever gets posted up on forums and Wahoonbox is the top of few others. It just doesn't matter whether its fishing, hunting, how to stuff or just a good story along with the comments that follow. Usually a good post will have some great feed back that will continue for days, weeks and sometimes years. Lately, spots of activety has picked up but just hasn't been going well since the fishing reports started up. I'll continue read/post/comment until we reach zero. Netman

On the bright side of things... Have you seen the faces lately on the pop-up ad when you pull up www.sportfishingmag.com? A few locals from Unleash the Beast.
