So on Friday night my daddy says to mommy - "I'm going fishing on Sunday and leaving on Saturday afternoon". Mommy does the usual, stomps her leg, sticke her bottom lip out and gets mad, then I hear daddy say, "don't worry, I'll take Jack so that will leave you with the other 2 boys." Mommy is somewhat happy and I get to go on my first offshore fishing experience. I ask daddy what to expect, and he says "little sleep, poptarts and a beautiful day on the water in a boat" I was like...This is so Rad!
We jump in daddys car and start driving and we go across this really big bridge and we are so high off the water (Ches. Bay Bridge). It is like where the clouds are! 2 more hours later we arrive in Fenwick Island, DE where the boat is. I was in 3 states in 3 hours! We jump on the Gettin' Jiggy, a 30' Pursuit that has these 2 big engines on the back. I even got to start the engines when we went out to dinner on the boat. It was so cool. We ate dinner, and daddy put me to bed so he could go rig baits or something like that. I slept in my bathing suit cause daddy didn't want to worry about anything in the morning.
In no time at all, daddy woke me up. It was really early. We jumped on the boat and took off at like 3:30am. My daddy is really crazy. I then fell asleep and awoke to this:
It was really cool. A little while later, my daddy and Mister M. start putting lines in the water. It was flat like my bathtup on the ocean. All of a sudden, a fishing reel makes this loud noise like zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz and all the adults get really excited and move really fast. In no time, I see my daddy pull a fish in the boat and someone says something like "that's nice bait for mahi".umm what?
I thought I knew where the fish were, so I jumped in the helm and took over the boat.
I heard some chatter about a Poorman or something so I aimed the steering wheel to a spot on the ocean. A little while later, another zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz and all the grown ups get excited again. They are like crazy or something. Then someone yells YAHOO and a big fish with lots of teeth hits the floor. It was really long.
Sometime went by and I was driving around and Daddy and Mister M were reeling all the lines in and they only had one rod out while they were putting stuff away. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ again and this time it went ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ for a long time. Daddy hands the rod to Mister M and he reels in a big fish. Daddy grabs a cane and brings in a big tuna. There was blood on lots of the boat. It was kinda messy, but everyone is really happy again.
We drove over to a flag sticking up out of the water and caught a mahimahi then it was time to go home. Daddy rode on the front of the boat for a while with me. It was so cool.
We got back to the dock and took some pictures.
It was really fun but I was really tired. Daddy bought me a Happy Meal, and i awoke on Monday morning in my own bed and I dont even know how I got there? Daddy was already gone to work. I don't know how he does it, but he is a good daddy.
