Took a break. You have to do different things to keep your skill levels up. This week it was back to wading the spoil islands in the Grant to Sebastian area. The normal hazards like Sting Rays and Sharks were out and about. This week had an additional hazard, Moon Jellies. One of these drifts into you and the day can be over. There are quite a few so if you are out, beware.
The fishing is far from spectacular. The water levels are still way up, and the clarity is poor. Can't even see my sissy boots when I'm wading. The Trout are getting scarce, but the quality remains good. Three slot and two over slot Trout on the day. Heaviest was 3.75 pounds. Had a pair of Blue Fish in the 4 pound range. Could not get to the island that I wanted to work for Flounder. There were at least three boats circling the island. This totally destroys the fishing. No Flounder to be found, and the Pompano were non existent. The bait in this area was a lot scarcer than it was further South in Indian River County.
