Thread: Buried Bones

    Default Buried Bones

Bonefish have been shrouded in mystery. I spent several hours on the roadside flats yesterday and didn't see any bonefish. Fishing was so slow that I took my booties off and let the small baitfish clean my yellow toenails! I would have to say that bonefishing this fall has been sub par. It seems odd to me that I feel lucky to just see 1 bonefish in a day's time. I have caught a few this fall; but I should be seeing many more than I have, and in the beginning of November the season ends; so I hope I see more before time runs out. Just by the lack of bonefishing reports, is another sign of people not seeing them. I have talked with people that took trips out back and on the Atlantic side flats and didn't see any. I wonder if a study has been done on them this year. I hope their population is healthy; and I see them soon.

I hope the weather clears soon, because I need to be back out there wading the flats. I would love to see some large bones this fall too. I can't wait to catch my next one!
