Maggie Joe Sport Fishing Winter Report
Mele Kalikimaka! It's winter time in beautiful Hawaii and although the weather doesn't temperatures don't change much during the winter, the fishing sure does! With morning time temperatures in the high 60's to low 70's and day time high's in the mid 80's a day out on the Hawaiian waters in the the winter time is a nice break from the mainland snow.
As for the fishing, as is customary in winter time fishing in Hawaii, we've started seeing a ton of Striped Marlin come in. Although, not as large as the Blue Marlin, mainly caught in the summer time, they are great acrobatic fighters sure to put on a show. Once caught they are also quite tasty as Striped Marlin sashimi (plain raw) and poke (raw with different types of local garnishes and sauces) is a local treat!
