Those are some beautiful trout. Are you catching them this time of year??? It looks like your using live bait. Where is that river?? Don't worry I'm not trying to get any spots. I'm here in Fl. and love catching trout on fly.
Hey Capt. Rob, we catch em from end of October to end of March with right now being the peak of the bite. The river is one of the Chesapeake bays tributaries. The river is in Chesapeake Virginia, and is locally referred to as The Hot Ditch. We use whatever there biting. When the water drops below 48 degrees we go to plastic, MR17s, Rapala x raps and such. Nothing like watching a 12lb speck crush a live cobb mullet, so that would be my favorite. Cut bait works equally well. I have quite a few Fly Rod anglers on my boat and they do great on half and half's, big tube fly's and such. Hope this helps.
Oh and I'm 37 so that's allot of specks, were over 40,000 that's for sure. I think Capt Blair Wiggins would call those mogan's ?
Thanks for the info Capt. Maybe I can make it up there sometime to fish with you. Only problem is, I HATE the cold. If you go to the fly fishing part of the forum I posted a pic of a fly I tie that is tearing up the trout down here.

You cant go wrong with Blake. Live bait, cut bait, fake bait... He does it all, well.

(thanks for the heads up on the 17MR)
Great fish Blake!! I am hoping to get over to your waters this spring and get on those reds and stripers. Take it easy.

Thanks Shayne , long as you start behind Fisherman's island in the a.m. for the stripe ones, and move on over to raccoon island in the afternoon for the channel bass, you should do great. Watch that water temp , could start early this year. 55 is when the magic starts happening. Good luck and watch out for those oyster tumps.
HollyBrooke and I have already began discussing our strategy for the trips over there. But I will take any advice you send my way!! lol Good luck and tight lines Blake.
