Key Largo, Quick afternoon trip today, We left the dock at 2 pm, The plan was to head, to 55 feet, load up on bait and hit 122 feet, for the big tails and maybe a few muttons. Got to 55 ft the tide very slow north, the bait was crazy got 25 speedo and then threw my net twice and got aprox 5 doz ballyhoos. While I did this, the tails were eating just below the speedo and hoos, my friend and his buddy got 6 tails not big 14in or so, then we hit the deep as planned. First bait down for the mutton victor that had never gotten a mutton, hooked up with what appeared to be a big mutton, he could hardly reel and the fish cut the line on the bottom structure. Next I send down a bait and got a keeper small mutton and next they started catching big tails on the bottom, but loosing too many hits so a started to chum and they got within 10 feet of the boat, schooling nice. Then Pablo and Victor, started to catch, on the surface, as I tried the bottom and didn’t get another hit, so I assisted them as they got some more, Then they took a break and My son got the rod and caught a few also. we left at 6pm, bc I’m back on the water tomorrow again. Here are the pics for more look up www.miamimuttonman.com
