What is wrong with THIS site?

With all due respect, this place was a ghost town before Box came along screaming in his every post. I may have read a total of three posts EVER due to his communication skills which are largely ineffective and unappealing to the "masses".

The issues brought up by the OP reach further than any one single contributor here. Arrogance and self-importance are to blame. It's been running rampant. To think otherwise is foolish, whether you agree with my previous statement or not.

I WANT TO CLEAR THE AIR ONCE AND FOR ALL....CLOSING DOWN MY FORUM HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS SITE BEING DEAD...HELL IF THATV WAS THE CASE I WOULD HAVE NEVER COME HERE TO BEGIN WITH.....THIS WEBSITE WAS COMMUNITY DEAD YEARS AGO....THE ZERO REPLIES IN 99% OF ALL THREADS HERE GOING BACK TO DAY ONE PROVES THIS....

MY LATE FORUM WAS THE NUMBER ONE MOST ACTIVE FORUM HERE....MINUS A COUPLE THREADS LOCATED IN THE LOUNGE, UNLEASH THE BEAST WOULD BE THE NUMBER ONE AS FAR AS ACTIVITY/POSTING GOES

I have my ideas, and plenty of them. This is the thread to vent. ...... Honesty is appreciated.

I just stopped in after an absence of over six months. I lost interest in this site when it morphed into the same kind of mod/cadre domination that forced a bunch of us out of FS during that very interesting week of electronic media frenzy caused by the incredible stupidly of the scions of Florida fishing past.

All at once this site was in a boat floating in the middle of a pod of hungry feeding fish and someone at the helm starting all engines and started cutting donuts thru the pod instead of casting out and reeling in!

Somehow, you have to convince readers that there participation is welcomed rather than just tolerated until the "big dog regulars" post again.....

Bye the way...I also stopped in that the FS site and it actually has gotten even worse!

I've posted about this in the past. Seems like FB is the place to go if you want to talk about fishing and BS'ing. At least as far as THIS site goes. People from THIS group of magazines post there instead of on their own web-site? What does that tell you?

I hope you're not going to lose any sleep over the awareness your communication skills are lacking at best and in case you've missed the last three "clues" I've offered you regarding your typing in all caps... it's quite rude and doesn't bode well for garnering the attention of those whom actually read and write ie: folks on a forum. Truth: Many people across many forums know how to reach me by phone, know where I live, and that I'm a straight shooter. You've just effectively called every member that doesn't agree with you, hold you in the highest regard, or doesn't view your quitting the forum as "the end", a punk. What members haven't yet been run off or outright banned because they questioned the "authority" they gave a home to have this thread to confirm their beliefs and continue building other forums. What happens when only those "in charge" are left here? Certainly you must want it that way or why else would this thread even exist?

I think a simple read of this entire thread pretty much sums up the title of the thread. What started as an honest attempt to address a problem has turned into a he said she said. It's apparent this site doesn't want to promote the type of forum that Marty had with Unleash the Beast. I suppose a forum full of knowledge, content, and humor just doesn't cut it here.

He may be down, but the ain't out! He'll end up somewhere else and that site will eclipse this one in short order. You don't have to agree and you can have a different opinion and that's fine, but just know, if you do . . . you're wrong.
