Today’s trip was a mission traveled from broad causeway to ocean reef, where we ran low on oil and stopped there to get the Sea Cat’s, oil tanks filled and headed out, got to the spot at 11: am.
the tide running north and the fish were hungry, I gave the kids a lesson on how to do things to get the tails to bite and off they were, they kept picking at the tails sometimes double hookups, we lost a few to the predators but, they got full and left us alone, Every angler rotated to get a chance at the tails and the bottom fishing . When I had Paul on the bottom he brought up a nurse shark and also had, a few missed fish, one that took him around the anchor line and ended up cutting the line, before I could figure out which way it had gone, around the rope. After I took the bottom rod and hooked up the partner to the fish that probably took Paul around the anchor line, it was a double digit yellow jack, that gave me a big battle around to the opposite side of the boat, these jacks are good eating and have no worms like its cousin, the Amber jack, so he was welcomed aboard.
At times we had the speedo’s so thick the chum would not flow out past them, to the tails, but we did well and everyone got fish and some were tired, so we called it quits at 2m. Here are the pics, for more look up www.miamimuttonman.com
