May Fishing Report for Charleston,SC FinAddict Fly/Light Tackle Charters!!
Well with the last couple days of May coming upon on us I would say it was a Good month for Fishing around the waters surrounding Charleston,SC!! The Redfish bite has been good on the lower stages of the tide for the larger schools using a float rig with live shrimp,finger mullet or mud minows and cut bait such as fresh Mullet or blue crabs fish on the bottom.For Fly Anglers the Flood Tides have been good seeing lots of fish and will only get better in the months to come.Spoon Flies and Crab patterns will work the Best!! Speckle trout fishing has been good on Topwater first thing in the morning or late in the afternoon on skiiter walks or Zara Spooks for bigger fish and for catching #s of fish live shrimp,mud minows,or DOA Shrimp fished under a float over oysters bars or rock piles is best on the last couple hours of incoming tide.Cobia's are still being caught on shipping lane bouys and wrecks and will continue for the next month.Bull Redfish are being caught at the jetties and harbor on the bottom using live bait or cut bait.Tarpon should be moving in next month following the large schools of menhaden up the beaches with the prime months being July/August!!
