I got out there around 5:30… I have been having more consistent bites in 15' of water so I move around until I found a good spot… there's a very good crab slew over there and when the water is moving, the drum are definitely there.
The current didn't really start moving the way I like it until 8ish… the first fish came at 8:15pm… it was the 51 and my fattest 51 ever. Once we completed that fish, all the lines went down. We realized we couldn't do that and only fished three rods after that… once we threw a crab in, it was only minutes (literally) before we were hooked up.
It was a good class of fish. I caught the fattest 46" I've ever seen… it looked funny to have the girth of a 50.
My buddy (Jeff White) and I were toast at 18 fish. We decided to dip net one more crab, cut it in half and within minutes we had hit our goal. I netted the last one, but we were both too tired to measure it. We decided to simply unhook it a the side of the boat and let it go.
