Kayak Fisherman Needs Help With A Dog Leash Anchor

Hello I'm relatively new to the Kayak Fishing world and have seen some of the Jackson Coosa videos where they us a dog leash as a drag anchor. I'd like to make one but not sure where to start. Thanks
