Marlin Fishing with Come Fish Panama
by Capt. Kerry H. Leggett
This weeks Angler’s Steve Esala from Florida and son Andy Esala who is currently serving in the U.S Navy came down here looking to target their 1st ever Marlin since they have heard so much about Panama and it’s Marlin Fishing.
Come Fish Panama were glad to have this opportunity to provide that fishing for them. After arriving and settling in at the Lodge with a broom of cocktail’s and a wonderful Panamanian cooked meal this Father & Son Team were ready for a few games of Billiard and Dart games before calling it a night for the early Dawn Patrol Call..
After enough Yellowfin Tuna on Day 1 we still needed to locate our Marlin, so we headed toward Isla Ladrones to provide the action for them.
We located and bridled up 2 of the 4 Bonito’s out of the tuna tubes along with a (cojinoa) Blue Runner for a slow troll on Marlin Ledge. After waiting out an hour or so the Tiagra 30 Wide started to sing a slow tune, then “The Man in the Black Suit” appeared and changed that tune- I yelled Fish On…
Andy provided us a good show for 2 hours and 40 min. until the 600 pd. plus Blackie came boat side. A few shots were taken and the clear and perfect release was applied. This team of Father and Son left the CFPL with Memories of a Lifetime so with this we would like to thank Steve and Andy Esala for joining us here in Tropical Panama and look forward to seen them back soon. Enjoy the photo’s below and don’t forget you can catch all the action over at http://www.facebook.com/comefishpanama as well as our Photo Link on our site http://www.ComeFishPanama.com….
