We have fished almost every day this week along the edge of the reef and Gulf Stream.
We have caught several real nice sized kingfish, a lot of bonitos and some good bottom fish. Nothing has bit a surface bait. The kings have been on live bait fished about 15 feet from a 3 or 4 ounce sinker or on the bottom rods searching for bottom fish. The same is true of the bonitos. Even several of our most recent sailfish have down 50 to 80 feet below the surface. On top of fishing down in the water column, we caught our best king yesterday in 280 feet of water.
The bottom line is as the surface waters get hotter the fish move down deeper in the water and further offshore as well. I hope this helps you catch some fish this weekend.
It is the slow season for fishermen, so come mon out nwith us and learn how to catch fish all year round. Captbouncer @bellsouth.net
