went out to the pier with the family, i wanted to get my wife her first Bob Hall Kingfish..was gonna go offshore in the kayak, but i have huge open blisters from paddling shark baits out yesterday..
set up the slide on the T, fished watermelon shad, chummed a bunch of them while i was at it..a friend got a king from the gut, Harley and I both got runs with no hookups..was getting dark and was looking like it wasn't gonna happen for us..i was picking up trash saying..."come on ocean give my wife a king!" just a second later, my wife and i both watch a nice king get about 4 feet in the air with our bait in its mouth, i grabbed the rod set the hook and gave it to the wife..i didn't break the slide clip at first..after tangling with most of the slides we got it on the pier..my wife got her first Bob Hall King estimated at about 40inches..A friend took some great video..
i bled and gutted it and put it in the cooler its the perfect eating size, Harley hooked and caught a nice king as we were leaving..Another great day at the Pier
