Oh what a day, after yesterday's blow, I was a little apprehensive about this mornings sea conditions, I was hosting Ray Buch who I have known for 42 years, his son Chris and their friends Rich Zilg Sr. and Rich Jr. We left the inlet and steamed east where everybody has been beating up on the bluefish. We were the first boat out there, and immediately boated a big blue and then Zilch for the next hour and a half ! At that point we had lost the tide and it looked liked the entire head boat and charter boat fleet from Belmar and Pt. Pleasant showed up. I hate breaking a chum slick, but we weren't doing anything so I made a wiggle and then it was game on ! We caught them on bait, diamond jigs, surface poppers and mid water swimmers! We went into catch and release mode and then headed in early, this was truly a beautiful day.
