We really fared quite well from the storm, fortunately for us most of the weather stayed offshore and then west of us. Based on the forecast track and intensity, we moved the Outta Here, a 65’ Viking SF that I run, to the intra-coastal ditch between Choctawhatchee Bay and West Bay on Monday. The banks are very high there and in essence the boat is below ground level, all the weather blows over you. We moved the boat back to Destin today and tied up at a temporary slip until the water levels subside. I have some short pilings in my permanent slip that could be a problem on high water.

Historically, tropical weather systems that come from the south east, skirting Florida's West Coast as they approach the Panhandle, can produce some unbelievable bottom fishing for grouper. As soon as the seas subside we will find out. Hopefully by Saturday or Sunday it may be possible to get in the gulf. Right now it is WAY to rough.

Bayside the water is very roiled and will probably stay that way for a while. Bay fishing was getting good before the storm and it will be interesting to see how it fairs after.
