Short Trip--Big Fish!

I ran from my house in Poquoson Va. across the Chesapeake Bay this morning and fished from my jet ski around Cape Charles.
I was fishing three rods all with live eels. I only had a little while so I was I hoping for a quick catch.
After an hour and a half and a couple drifts I had no bites so I was reeling rod 2 of 3 when my last rod out got hit hard and bent over.
Perfect timing! Another minute and I would have been gone.
After about 5 minutes playing tug of war I slid the fat 45 inch Striped Bass into the net and headed back home.
I put him on ice and stopped at Grafton Fishing Supply in York County and weighed him in at 38 lbs.
After work I cleaned him up and fried some Fish and Chips for my wife's art group.
Wish I could do that every day!
