Sea's were forecast to be better....and it started off that way, but got choppy as the day went on. The bite was pretty much the same as the day before however, so all was good. With only 2 guest on the boat this trip, it was a much easier day. Like the day before, we started out with the early King bite, and the first fish was on within a few minutes. A pattern that developed the day before continued, with one particular plug getting all the fish, and we did not mind one bit! With avid freshwater fishermen, the fight of our saltwater fish proved to be a real surprise. With our limit of Kings, we headed east to see if we could find more bottom fish to add to the menu.


Much like the day before, we found Vermillion in good numbers and size...and sadly had to throw them all back. Also like the day before we found some Yellowtail Snapper mixed in. Though not as large as the Vermillions or as they are in the Keys, there were keepers, and great tasteing!


Having spent enough time catching and releasing abundant fish to get a handfull we could keep, we pulled lines and worked east. We ran a small 3 line spred with 2 Wahoo lures and a sbullet skirted Ballyhoo. There were a few scattered weedlines in the choppy conditions, but 'Flippers' were at each site. With no fish to take our baits, and winds kicking up the choppy conditions, we took the bumpy ride back to Port to clean Fish. Another good catching day, with some nice variety. Now weather is forecast to get rough again, so back to waiting for another nice window we go!
