An all Florida week to remember
First leg on our journey is a 39 hour trip to the fabulous Florida Middle Grounds aboard Hubbard Marina's Florida Fisherman ll.
What a way to start our 'all Florida week to remember'!
Check out the short action packed video of our trip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7xBhl83y6k
Stop number two is a visit to the Citrus County mansion of good friends Tony & Teri for a fresh off the boat Gulf of Mexico Florida shrimp dinner. My daughter, Dee, (R), digs in:
After a great nights sleep at the mansion, it's off to Cedar Key's Tiger Island Outfitter, sometime called 'Boar Hog Alley'!
After settling into our cozy little home away from home, Dee prepares for the hunt. We will be in 'hot pursuit of the cunning, dangerous, Florida wild boar hog. How better to end our, 'All Florida week to remember' than celebrating with Daddy-Daughter hogs?
Roger, our guide for the day, suggest stalking the mighty boar hogs in a special equipped, ever so quiet, little wagon. talk about fun!
Tiger Island is home to two beautiful little ponds. What a view:
Dee & I admire the cutest little pig:
We see plenty of hogs, very smart hogs. It appears that they do not really want to be shot. We chase them for hours. Often close, but no put them on the ground shot. Roger suggest we try this little hut known simply as 'up on the hill'. The acorns are about gone, and the hogs are really going after corn. Let's give it a try:
Let's set up the video camera to record all the action.
Roger sure knew what he was talking about. Look at the hogs under that electric corn feeder.
Bam! Bam! two hogs down & out. What a hunt! What a thrill!
Daddy, let's hunt 'up on the hill' again soon, real soon!
