Fourth tournament of the series was on 27 April. Managed to get beat once again. Weighed a 7 pound Trout and did not make the board. The top Trout was 10.31 pounds. The same team weighed in the top Red, a 6.75 pounder. For a look at the top Trout check out the Florida Flatsfishing Association Facebook page.
My day started with a Trout that was just under 7 pounds. caught her on a Diet Jerk 4.5 inch Split tail (Bruise). Felt pretty good. On to search for a Red. Working a new area so I wasn't sure of myself. Lost a pair of small Snook, but no Reds. On to a mud bay. First fish a 17 inch Red. Next Red was quite a bit bigger, but I made a foolish mistake and lost it. That is one of the problems with fishing barbless hooks, one error and you lose. Moved on to another set of small cuts off of the ICW. First one produced a short Trout.
Next one gave up a 23.5 inch 4.36 pound Red. Off to the weigh in. Passed by one of my favorite cuts and it had 2 boats in it, just barely enough room for one. Made a quick stop on the way to check for Tarpon. They are in, but were not in the mood. Watched the weigh in at Riverside Cafe. A lot of quality fish brought to the scale
