The fluke season ends next Sunday, and there are still some fluke here, mostly on the south side, but you have to work for them. But, if you donít find any fluke, you will at least probably pick up some seabass. Fishing for them is pretty good, but you have to keep the ruler handy and do a lot of upping and downing
Striped bass fishing is good enough and the eels are working well if you can stay away from the bluefish. Fishing during the week is a lot better than on the weekends, especially Saturdays. It seems everyone has to fish on Saturdays, so the crowds make it difficult.
The surf picked up a bit just in time for the beginning of the Sur

Rich Michaelsen Ė 37.64 lbs
Gary Krist Ė 18.48 lbs
Wet Suit Division
John Bruno Ė 37.22 lbs
I hear there are some yellowfins, & longfins out around the 500 line, but none of the charterboats are in that mode anymore, so I canít get much good info. If the weather is great Wednesday, I think Iíll make a run out there for our last trip of the year. The boats owner is leaving on Thursday.
Shark fishing is great for real big, bluesharks. But there are makos out there as well, and most boats that have been going after sharks have wound up bringing one to the boat. Many are just on the legal size limit, but there are bigger ones too.
